PORTUGAL Road Trip: LISBON ~ Exploring the City
After 4 days of relaxing in the Algarve, it's on to lovely Lisbon to explore the city, sample Ginjinha and eat even more delicious Portuguese food.
LISBON
Known for it's cable cars, tiled buildings and cobblestone streets, the pocket-sized capital of Portugal has a ton to see - Lord knows I did my obligatory guidebook research so my list was long. But my list started to feel less and less important as we roamed the city's neighbourhoods and settled into the casual vibe of everyday life in Lisbon.
Today is all about exploring the city, and you'll have to excuse my laziness - not in the mood to write, but the photos and captions do a pretty good job of showing what we checked out on our first day in Lisboa!

We're also a 5-minute walk to the Palácio das Necessidades that has this awesome view of the 25 de Abril Bridge

Praça do Marques de Pombal — with it's very detailed and imposing statue on the roundabout at the end of Avenida da Liberdade

Praça dos Restauradores — a public square, close to Rossio Square and a less expensive spot to find a terrace to drink or eat at

Elevador de Santa Justa — opened in 1902 to take residents up and down (a much better option than walking up at ton of stairs in the beating sun)
